The British Association of Teachers of Dancing

Sequence

The Sequence dances are developed from Ballroom, Latin, Classical and Club Latino styles of dance. Each dance has a sixteen bar routine and, as with the classical section, is danced in a circle with everybody moving together at the same time. This is very popular with the older generation as clubs have formed for people to join for tea dances and evening dances.

This is a good way to keep fit and meet up with friends. More dances come out each year as a result of a number of competitions to create new dances and these are taught at the clubs. As in the other sections, one can take medals, professional qualifications (each dance with its own technical script) and there are competitions throughout the UK.
