Thank You From Christine Aitken

The President, Trustees, Treasurer, Executive Council Members, General Secretary, Examiners, Teachers and last but not least Head Office staff, I would like to thank you all for the beautiful gifts, cards, best wishes and kind words I received on my retirement as BATD Examination Secretary, they were all gratefully appreciated.

32 years ago, I rang the big brass bell at 23 Marywood Square to attend my interview. The door was opened by the late, and in my opinion, the great Mr. Bobby Barr whose words to me were “are you coming to work here?”, and as they say, the rest is history.

I would like to thank Presidents, Trustees and Executive Council Members, past and present for the opportunities given to me and also the trust and support given to me over the years.

Your General Secretary, Mrs. Katrina Allan, well what can I say, Katrina is what the BATD is all about. You, the members, should be very proud of Katrina – the Association is the envy of other Associations to have such a loyal and dedicated General Secretary. Katrina has always “had my back” and helped and supported me immensely in my role as Examination Secretary, for which I will always be grateful.

To all Examiners, I thank you for always being a help to me by agreeing to conduct exams, no matter where they were, over the many years, and to all the teachers, I am grateful for your patience when booking exams.

Lastly, I do really need to thank Head Office staff for keeping the Association ticking over on a day-to-day basis and making my job a lot easier. My congratulations go to Mrs. Heather Gold in her new role as Examination Secretary, she will excel in this position with all your help.

Once again thank you all and I hope the BATD and its members continue to prosper.
