North American Trixie Hardy Scholarships 2023

The Trixie Hardy North American Theatre Scholarships may have come and gone; however, the memories will last a lifetime. This year’s event took place at the Toronto Airport Marriott Hotel, a fabulous venue with plenty of pluses for all of the Teachers and Dancers.

October 20-22nd was a weekend not to forget. It has been a long time coming and it did not disappoint. Over 39 Studios took part in this prestigious event and the dancers were all exceptional, motivated, and thrilled to be back at doing what they love.

Our Scholarship nominees selected, were some of the top students in North America and travelled across Country to participate, and we were thrilled to have them back.

Guest Lecturers included Jay T Schramek (Toronto), Christine Grace (England) and Ian McLeod (Scotland). This team of fabulous instructors put the candidates through invigorating, fun, perfectly conducted and coordinated classes to show off each dancer’s talent.

This year we would also like to recognize the Exceptional Pianist for our Ballet Classes Mr. Erik Geddis, the perfect accompanist who made everyone want to dance.

A Thank you must also go out to the Volunteers who took time out of their busy weekend to assist with making the Scholarship run smoothly. Members from the Toronto, Eastern Ontario and Western Ontario Regions all stepped in to assist keeping everything on time and stress free.

The Weekend definitely ended on a high note with Packed Sunday Workshops run by the Toronto Region. Classes in Ballet, Contemporary, Musical Theatre, Jazz, Street/Hip Hop were all well received by our Teachers and Students. The Area’s Top Choreographers as well as our Guest Instructors all helped make the classes creative and energized, smile and laughter could be heard throughout the Ballrooms.

Teachers thank you for your continued support of our North American Trixie Hardy Scholarships. Thank you for entrusting us with your students dance education. We hope to see all of you Next Year.
