The British Association of Teachers of Dancing

On Saturday 19th September we should all be coming together for a fabulous day of dance at Clydebank Leisure Centre for our 6th BATD Scottish National Dance Premiership and Pre- Premier Competition. As we can’t be in the hall together, we would like our dancers to join us in the Jessie Bear Virtual Challenge.

Jessie Bear is our Batd Highland Mascot and was named after Mrs Jessie-Stewart Haggarty MBE who was a very special lady. Thank you to Christine Lacey MBE for sharing this video with us.
Primary Dancers: Please share your favourite dance from Pas de Basques, Pas de Basques & High Cuts, Highland fling, Swords or if you have learnt a new step/dance during lockdown we would love to see it!

Beginners & Novice Dancers: It’s your turn to perform one of your favourite dances, choosing from Highland Fling, Sword Dance, Seann Triubhas, Flora or Lilt.
Intermediate Dancers: We would love to see your Highland Fling, Sword Dance, Seann Truibhas, Barracks Johnnie, Heilan’ Laddie, Flora, Lilt, Jig or Hornpipe- You Choose!

Premier Dancers: This year the Special Event at the BATD Premiership was to be the Scottish Lilt. Under 12 Years please share your 4 Step Scottish Lilt while 12 Years and Over are invited to post your 6 Step Scottish Lilt.

Dancers have fun, stay safe and be risk aware while filming!

Although we can’t be together, we can dance together!
