The British Association of Teachers of Dancing

In memory of David Moffat

It is with great sadness to report that we have lost David Moffat, one of our Past Trustees.

David was on holiday with his lovely wife, Ann, cruising the Mediterranean when he passed away.

As everyone will know, he was a great ambassador for the B.A.T.D – a past Vice President and finally Senior Trustee for many years until he retired at the age of 75 years, in line with the ruling in place at that time regarding retirement.

Outside of the B.A.T.D David was a director of the British Dance Council for a long time. Alongside Bryan and myself our Saturday and Sunday evenings in London connected with B.D.C. were always full of laughter. Over many years he judged at the British Sequence Festival in Blackpool and at many other places in the UK. He trained many Amateur competitive couples and Professionals too.

David will be sadly missed by Ann and his lovely family, and indeed by all who knew him. Our thoughts are with them at this saddest of times.

Diane Barron,
Treasurer, B.A.T.D.
