The British Association of Teachers of Dancing

Dear BATD Members, Dancers and Friends,

Thank you for your flexibility & patience as we navigate through these uncertain times. We would like to update you around BATD’s proactive measures for the health and safety of our community in response to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) situation.

The BATD’s regularly scheduled events, competitions and meetings are suspended to 30th April and then will be reviewed. This follows recent guidelines by the NHS and UK Government. We will continue to carefully track the developing situation and we will assess the viability of returning to our normal practices in the coming months.

All examinations, both amateur and Professional, are suspended with immediate effect until the end of April 2020 and then will be assessed on a monthly basis after that unless instructed by Government legislation.

With regret this also means that the 2020 UK Annual Conference at the Crowne Plaza Glasgow is also cancelled.

BATD H.O. staff will continue working but have decided to limit access to our office in the best interest of our community, families and students for the health and safety of everyone. This decision is in line with public health guidelines regarding the COVID-19 (Coronavirus), as well as by the urgency of Government officials to limit large public events effective immediately.

While it is disappointing to have had upcoming events cancelled, we look forward to coming together again as a Dance community when the time is right.

Please feel free to contact us at as we will monitor our emails frequently.

We will also post up to date announcements as required on our webpage and the BATD’s social media channels.

In taking proactive measures now, we may limit exposure to this highly contagious virus. The BATD appreciates your understanding and will continue to provide updates accordingly.
