Conference Lecture Series- Membership Jazz
The New Membership Jazz Syllabus will be presented Saturday June 20th at 11am EST and 4pm UK Time. This live event will include a Q & A and sample choreography.
Miss. Shelagh Connolly will present the syllabus with Miss. Kyla Hull demonstrating.

Miss. Connolly has been dancing since the age of 3 under the tutelage of her mother, Miss. Trixie Hardy. Though originally from Sault Ste. Marie Ontario Canada, she currently resides in Lynchburg Virginia.Miss Connolly has studied all forms of dance throughout Canada and the U.S. Shelagh is currently on faculty at Forest Dance Academy as an Instructor and Choreographer for the FDA Performance Co.

Shelagh is a Fellow and Examiner in the Stage, Ballet & Freestyle Branches of the B.A.T.D. and was instrumental in creating the New Jazz Syllabus and its instruction in the United Kingdom and Canada.
Miss. Connolly is the current North American Coordinator for the Stage & Ballet Branches of the BATD and a member of the Stage & Ballet Committee.
Miss. Connolly is also a member in good standing of Dance Masters of America in all genres of dance.
Shelagh has taught at numerous workshops in the United Kingdom, Canada and the U.S.A. and has taught Dance Education in the Public School System. She has adjudicated throughout Canada and the U.S. and TDCI Blackpool.
Her students have been High Score winners in Florida, Las Vegas and California where they had the privilege of performing at Disneyland California. Students have also progressed to dancing professionally in Europe, Canada and the U.S.A. as well as seeking Professional Dance careers within the Association.
Shelagh has taken an active part in amateur theatre as a singer, actor, and dancer and continues to pass this experience on to local theatre students.
Miss. Connolly holds a BSC in Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement and Associate Substance Abuse Counseling.
I am thrilled to be a Guest Lecturer at this year’s Conference in the both the Jazz and Acrobatic Syllabi. Thank you to the Association for the opportunity and privilege.
During this difficult time for both students and Teachers alike I hope that the Lecture series provided by the BATD will provide hope in knowing that we can still move forward, educate, create and inspire. Look to the horizon and let us all come out of this pandemic as stronger Teachers and Professionals.
