Jessica Hewitson, founder & principal Jessica Hewitson has been passionately teaching street, modern, stage, and freestyle dance to children for 15 years. During this time she has developed a unique and ever-popular style of teaching multiple disciplines of dance. In the course of her lessons, her pupils not only hone their dance skills, but also gain confidence and experience in performing, make new friends, and have huge amounts of fun along the way! Jessica divides her time between teaching in 3 primary schools during the day, and in her own school branches in Crouch End, Greenwich and Plumstead, in the evenings - teaching over 200 children a week. The J.K. Dance Academy The J.K. Dance Academy, founded in 2003, is one of the leading dance schools in London providing well-rounded knowledge of dance to its pupils. With a staff of dedicated teachers and attendance growing year after year, J.K. has achieved massive success and is reaching new heights every term. Highlights include: Annual performances at prestigious venues including the O2, Her Theatre, and the Shaftesbury Theatre. Performing at the Mayor’s Ceremony for Young Gifted Children – with one of JK’s own pupils being presented with this award Performing at the 2012 Olympic Opening Festival Performing in front of 20,000 as part of the half time show for a Crystal Palace football match at Selhurst Park Opening ceremony for the Urban Music Programme Annual Performances the Danson Park Festival, Highgate’s Fair in the Square, Croydon Festival, People's Day Festival, and the Dartford Festival The J.K. Dance Academy prides itself on encouraging its pupils to endeavour to better themselves, and to continually learn and improve as much as they can. With this in mind, JK Dance takes part in accredited exams with the B.A.T.D (British Association of Teachers of Dance) every year, giving the students the opportunity for personal achievement. They are proud to have maintained a 100% record in these exams and have had 8 pupils nominated for scholarships.
