Ashley’s Rockette Intensive Experience

In February of this year, Ashley was 1 of 1,500 dancers who live auditioned for a spot in the Rockette Summer Intensive week. Ashley chose to audition in NYC at the Radio City Music Hall, however, there were 30 auditions in 12 cities that took place all over the United States.

The Intensive Week consisted of 6 hours of classes daily where they learned Rockette choreography from The Christmas Spectacular and The New York Spectacular. They also had seminars hosted by the Rockettes on injury prevention, nutrition, makeup application and audition tips.

Ashley loved her week and made many wonderful friends. On Monday Aug 28th, Ashley moved into her new school residence in NYC and looks forward to starting her training at The Ailey School, a division of the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre in Manhattan.
